It's so big that you can only see its eyes and claws consistently, and those take up half the screen. The dragon boss in Pangu Lagoon is a huge Background Boss.Imagine that you are a sweet and innocent child thrown into a battle for the fate of the world, confronting someone who could callously wipe you out in an eye-blink if he wanted to, and you can see what is going through Milla's head during those moments. Related to the above, Milla is terrified out of her wits when she confronts Brevon at the end of her story, being seen crying when he gives his final warning. What makes it creepier is what Brevon tells you, after Milla turns into a monster, in dialogue that was removed from the game trying to throw you out of focus with suggestions that Milla is angry with the world for abandoning her, and feels the same about you for dragging her into this whole mess.īrevon: Rrrgh! You've pestered me long enough! ( grabs Milla by the throat) Say goodbye! After he leaves, he uses the same transformation he forced Serpentine into earlier to turn Milla into an unnerving, Faceless Eyed monster with a scorpion-like tail that it shoots different kinds of stuff from, forcing you to fight against her. When you finally get to the core of the Dreadnought, just when your character is about to recover the Kingdom Stone, Brevon shows up, holding Milla hostage at knife-point threatening to kill her, forcing you to remove the device and turn the power to the Dreadnought back on and then throw it to him.Brevon's initial tactics include opening the airlocks, turning off the atmosphere of his ship, and forcing his own loyal general Serpentine into a painful transformation to better fight you. His worst actions come when the girls invade his ship as it prepares to fly into space. When Carol and Milla arrive to get her out of his base, he shows up, cutting off their escape, and attempts to have his Shade Troopers kill them. After Brevon captures Lilac when she attempted to rescue Torque and the Kingdom Stone, he proceeds to mercilessly torture her, through a combination of wounds (including cutting off her Prehensile Hair), Electric Torture, and Break Her By Talking the electric torture and effects of the wounds are seen on-screen.And if that's not enough, we even see him coldly executing several Rogue Warriors who have come to stop him. And that doesn't even stop there Brevon then uses his influence over Shuigang to increase tensions between the Three Kingdoms of Avalice and provoke an energy crisis in Shang Mu, eventually leading to him obtaining the Kingdom Stone. Giant laser is easy to dodge though.Brevon: ( brandishing his knife) My turn. At least Milla gets it easy: the Cube Blaster shreds through this thing's shield, and you can reflect the lasers (I believe). That, and the lasers the prism fires are tough to dodge, especially since you need to be up close to attack. Mostly because the spheres that Merga fires screw with my perspective and make it hard to tell where they're coming from. "Lunar Cannon Prism", as I'm calling it. That being said, his attacks are learnable, and you do at least get a taste on how he works if you practice his match in Gong's Dojo, since that's essentially his fight toned down. No shields if you're going for Rainbow S-Rank, and he's pretty fast with his attacks. Also, if you're going for Rainbow S-Ranks, no shields. Intended to be the climax boss of the first half of the game, and does a good job at that with its tough patterns and the difficulty of hitting its head. Wrote the TV Tropes page on him, so read it if you want an insight. Casual play is recommended, though you can also take Rainbow S-Ranks and/or speedrunning into account. I'd recommend to try and also avoid the easy answers of Merga and Bakunawa Fusion, since we all know they're in a league of their own.Īnd it can be for any reasons or types of runs in the game. Trying to see if the community can come to a general consensus on what the hardest boss in the game is.
